Mails from Africa

These African mails are interesting. I was about to delete another such spam, when a whim made me stop and expense it a perfunctory read. What is striking is the professionality of writing and the contextual soundness for conning unwary mail victims. However, astute minds would catch the predictability in the finer modus operandi. Nevertheless impressive. I am excerpting two mails I just got a few mins back.

1. Mail from South Africa

Good day, You may be surprised to receive this letter from me since you do not know me personally, the purpose of my introduction is that, I am, the first son of MUSTAFA SANI, who was recently murdered in the land dispute in Zimbabwe.

I was furnished with viable information from the International trade Center here in South Africa and in support with the chamber of commerce the same South Africa (JHB) hence l decided to write you. Before the death of my father, he had taken me to Johannesburg to deposit the sum of US$8.Million (Eight United States Dollars), in one of the private security company, as if he foresaw the looming danger in Zimbabwe. This money was ....

This land problem came when Zimbabwean President Mr. Robert Mugabe introduce a new Land Act reform which wholly affected the rich white farmers and some few blacks farmers. And this resulted to the killing and .....

The South African government seems to be playing along with them. I am faced with the dilemma of investing this amount of money in South Africa for fear of going through the same experience in future since both countries have similar political history. Moreover, the South African Foreign Exchange policy does not allow ....

I have two options for you; firstly you can choose to have certain percentage of the money for nominating your account for this transaction. Or you can go into partnership with me for the proper profitable investment of the money in your country. Whichever the options you want, feel free to notify me I have also mapped out 5% of this money for all kinds of expenses incurred in the process of this transaction. If you do not prefer a partnership I am willing to give you 25% of the money while the remaining 70% will be for my investment in your country .....

2. Mail from Ivory Coast

This letter may come to you as a surprise due to the fact that we have not yet met,but it shouldn't,since we are determined to get what rightly belongs to us anyhow, but soon when everything goes according to plan. The message could be strange but reality will definitely dawn on you, if you pay some attention to it's content. I would'nt have notified you but for the sake of your integrity ....

In bringing this message to you, I have to say that I have no intentions of causing you any personal pains or discomfort. My name is Caron Keon ,23 years of age, living in the company of my junior brother a native of Dabou in Cote D'ivoire.

Our father before his death was a gold merchant and cocoa merchant before his death. Also our father was also one of the casualties of the invasion of the rebels, after their emergence in the capital city...

Our mother died when I was just 12 years old,and since then my father took me so special. Before his death on May 25 2003 he called the secretary who accompanied him to the hospital and told him that he has the sum of Eight Million United State Dollars.(USD$8.000,000) left in a metallic trunk box being registered as family valuables...

I'm sure many people wonder what would happen if u were to reply to some such mail.. and I have the answer :)

My sweet dad (purely out of lack of awareness of spam) mailed one such "rich guy" in Nigeria. I wish I could share that chain of mails! At the end of it, this guy asked my dad to hire an attorney in India, set up a fake company and send some money to Nigeria so that the "paperwork" in Nigeria could be prepared.
Now why would a guy with so many million dollars at his disposal want my dad to send a few hundred dollars for paperwork.
I remember telling my dad to ignore that mail the first time he received it, but for some strange reason he pursued it. Clearly, when it came to the sender of the mail asking for money, FINALLY, my dad got the point.

I like the gradually changing theme of the blog. Corrupt feminine influence is really annoying sometimes, ain't it? ;)

see the amount is same in both mails. :) . Must need to find out the servers , these mails coming from.I guess this is a high time spammers should learn new tricks to fool people ;-).

Ok..leaving these behind...the Zimbabwe and Ivory Coast are the two most unsettled countries economically and politically currently. God save the people and these countries.
