Leaving on a Jet Plane
Leaving for Saudi Arabia tomorrow for a price optimization project with the 5th largest bank in SA(name withheld in true consult ishtyle and shpirit!). The visa application had an undertaking which now bears my signature and name. It says if I am caught importing anti-religiousness stuff (cassettes, CDs, leaflets, magazines, words written on T-shirt) or drugs, alchohol or pornographic material I am willing to accept the death penalty. Death is printed in uppercase bold.Gulp …you didn’t hear that? G.U.L.P.
I have deleted all pics which even remotely resemble women from my laptop. Arabs are very lenient in defining pornography. ‘This photo shows the girl’s face’ ‘Habibi.. this one has bare arms’ Meanwhile I pray Osama behaves himself. Also I pray Bush uncle doesn’t wake up one morning and decide to extrapolate his geographic trajectory, Afghanistan, Iraq then ?? And last but not the least, I pray the babus in the Indian embassy are not fans of Beetle Bailey!
Brethren, if I come back alive thou shalst have a rich travelogue on a country which is otherwise impossible to visit. If I give you 10 days vacation and a million dollars, would you ever visit the kingdom?
