Is there any significance behind these numbers? Why Computer Science is different from science or technology?
The fact: Ol' man Dewey arranged them moving from the 'heaviest' like Philosophy, Religion to 'logical' like science, technology to 'mundane' like history, geography
My guess: Computers were not in vogue when he devised this system. It must hav been added later. Since it could not be added after 900 since the basis is to maintain three digits.. the only slot available was 000.
Interesting!
So are you "Ceramics and Alleid technology"? He he he
