Writing Blues

Foreword: 'Murray wondered at his own calmness and nearly indifference. In the execution room were about twenty men, a congregation made up of prison officers, newspaper reporters, and lookers-on who had succeeded ' - O'Henry

I just cant inspire myself to write. I am the master of unfinished works. Heres a list of W.I.P which keeps on growing.

1. For Whom The Bell Tolls
Genre: Horror/Supernatural
Rough Notes: Inspector Hetfield and sub inspector Dickinson come to a village to find everyone dead killed, brutally murdered. A village Rimbury set in nineteenth century Britain along the sea. A lighthouse with a very large and old bell. Many centuries ago a ship crashed into the shore .. that was the last time the bell was rung, the sound of the old bell had cracked the stones of the lighthouse. Some thing happens … in the dead of night the bell starts ringing again.

2. The Curse of Qorikancha
Genre: Supernatural novel
Rough Notes: Undisclosed ... since this should be my magnum opus if I ever manage to complete it.

3. Unnamed ... currently called 'The Forgotten Book'
Genre: Undecided
Rough Notes: Several hundreds of shelves. Thousands of books of every kind imaginable. Over a period of the library’s existence all books have been issued except one .. the name of this story. This book lies on the top most rack of the most nondescript shelf. No one has ever touched it since it was placed their since the time the library was institutionalized. The book is also a very unsuccessful one, the publisher stopping its subsequent editions because of poor reviews.

4. The Face on the Wall
Genre: Supernatural
Rough Notes: In monsoons … a shady downtown hotel … damp patches on the wall. One patch looks like a face .. slowly the features are delineated clearly and a face is clearly identifiable.

5. Kiran and Kanishka !!!!!!
Genre: Supernatural
Rough Notes: Undisclosed

6. COEP Boys Hostel (1999-2003)
Genre: Memoirs
Rough Notes: So # and others were discussing this yearly COEPian ritual. Since this was baptism time everybody was scared and looked up at respective seniors for guidance. (More on respective seniors in the next chapter ) In that dingy room on the first floor of H-block I heard him speak for the first time. He had heard of Ranchi. He was smart. He spoke good English. He had 292 in PCM. First meeting and I was impressed. And as fate would have it, he decided to choose me as his partner.

Afterword: O-Henry died writing this last line. This story 'The Dream' is unfinished and those are the very last lines.

I was looking for a girl's name. I suddenly remembered that Kanishka happens to be a bisexual name. If you notice carefully, even Kiran is the same
