COEP Boys Hostel ( 1999-2003)
My friend urged me to write a novel on the days we had in our engineering college boys hostel. At first I rejected the thought because I didnt want my focus to shift from fiction to non-fiction. After a lot of mulling I have decided to do it. It may take a year or even more to complete. At any rates it would be fun researching.The whole idea is to bring out the chronicle in print ( hard bound ) and privately circulate amongst all us close friends. Off course pics and caricatures would be appropriately inserted.
The as yet untitled book would have eight sections for eight semesters. The narrative would be first person. The tone humourous. Each section would have seven to ten chapters about the anecdotes and incidents which happened during that semester. Heres a primer..
Protagonists: 666, Shreerang Joshi, Hriddhiman Das and Yogesh Mali
Sidekicks: Tejas Joshi, Rohit Kumbhar, Sudip Ghosh
Sem I
Chap 1: I befriend Tejas Joshi
Chap 2: The ragging scandal
Chap 3: Yogesh Mali and Rohit Kumbhar
Chap 3: The Applied Mechanics Professor
Chap 4: The Applied Science Prof and associated scandals
Chap 5: The proud Shreerang Joshi
Chap 6: Pune ! Where Guys and Gals talk freely .....

Abey on second thoughts i think you should mask the names so that there is added intrigue ..for expample to know who the hell was this karpakundi?? which of your friends?? this also gives you some leeway to name people according to your taste.. you can put nicknames like KB also..hehee
Dearest Anonymous: Yes .. I shall use those nasty nicknames. There are a lot of benefits of withholding the true identities. Boys hostel stuff is reeeeeally nasty and urrrgghh hehe:-)

Sujit Mairale episode happened in second sem. Sem II is going to be one helluva section.
